This seems to be a real must-have for all serious Star Wars fans. Gentle Giant is going to release this truly amazing “insane detail” statue of R2-D2 in June 2010.
It’s an an absolutely accurate deluxe hand painted 1:6 scale model of the R2-D2 droid with opening panels, removable arms, lightsaber slots and lots of additional accessories including mechanical gripper, periscope scanner, saw and many more. A few tips for interesting Star Wars toys – figures and statues
Since 1977 when the first line of Star Wars merchandise appeared, there were literally thousands of different types of Star Wars toys, figures and other collectibles released by different manufacturers worldwide. As collector, I already know that it would be unrealistic to provide a comprehensive overview within a single page like this one, so I will at least introduce some of the items I find most interesting.
